The Opera One browser has become available for download by all users, in it the company has implemented new features based on built-in artificial intelligence. The preview version of the browser was presented in April 2023 and was only available to developers.
The AI in the browser is called Aria, it was developed alongside OpenAI and uses Opera’s own Composer AI engine combined with GPT 3.5. You can call Aria using the key combinations CTRL + / or CMD + /, respectively, on Windows and Mac, after which a command line appears for communicating with the AI. The AI Prompts feature will help Aria respond to contextual prompts in text, and ChatGPT is also available in the sidebar. AI can be enabled at the user’s request, access to Aria will require an Opera account.
Opera One introduced automatic grouping of tabs by topic: for example, sites with restaurants and cafes will be combined into one group, and there will also be tabs with Google Doc files in one place. Each group of tabs will be highlighted in a certain color and will collapse and expand on click. The browser also uses a new algorithm for rendering complex web animations with improved performance.
