“If people are in smog for a long time, then the vocal folds can pick it up and begin to be reborn. … The vocal folds, due to the fact that nature has made them elastic, mobile, do not have a protective layer, so they are very vulnerable to all kinds of smog, ”explained Vladimir Zaitsev.
First of all, masks will help to cope with adverse conditions – both cloth and paper. They can be moistened with water, this will increase their effectiveness against smog. Windows should not be opened at home, and if there is air conditioning or at least a kitchen hood, it would be absolutely justified to use them, the expert recommended.
