Spartak shot down Krasnodar – Kommersant
[ad_1]
The next round of the Russian Championship ended with a magnificent match between Spartak and Krasnodar. The Spartacists, who for almost half a half did not look like a team coming out of the crisis, who were losing during the meeting – 0:2 and 2:3, were able to snatch a victory with a score of 4:3 in the end, gaining a foothold in the top three.
It’s terribly curious to see how a team that has been playing so-and-so lately reacts to a very painful slap in the face from a club from a lower division. Strongly worries because of her? Are you ready to redeem yourself for radical transformations?
Spartak’s coach Guillermo Abascal definitely took the Cup defeat from Akron to heart. So close that he considered it necessary not only to shake up the foundation, but also to correct the defensive play scheme: three central defenders is a completely atypical format for him. But there were no transformations with Spartak itself for a long time. His football was quite consistent with the atmosphere in the half-empty, quiet and even sounded somehow indifferent and detached, as if the problems of the host club did not care for him, the stadium. It was unhurried, without a spark of football, which the fans of the modest rival Togliatti liked so much and which certainly inspired the fans of Krasnodar.
And they were completely inspired when the first persistent attack of Krasnodar turned into trouble for Spartak. Guests played a corner without fuss, and the defenders behaved strangely. Nobody wanted to come out to Eduard Spertsyan advancing to the gate: do what you want, you are welcome. Spertsyan decided to shoot into that zone on the border of the goalkeeper’s area, where his partner John Cordoba fought with Nikita Chernov. Spartak interfered with the opponent in all available ways, including by no means gently hugging the body. But it is not easy to hobble a forward of such a grenadier build as Cordoba, and Chernov did not succeed in this. Krasnodar was able to substitute under the ball, and he ricocheted from him flew into the net.
Spartak still had a faint hope for VAR, that it would find an offside position. But no, I didn’t find it. And Abascal, flashing his foppish sneakers, jumped out to the curb, shouting something at the top of his voice, although obviously no one could hear him or, in any case, understand. But the cry of the soul can not hold back.
And Spartak did not want to wake up. Taking a moderate, without straining rhythm, he stubbornly held it, apparently enraging his mentor. Ten minutes before the break, he could not restrain himself and released on the field one of those main players that he tried to do without – Roman Zobnin. Something seemed to work out. There was even a pretty attack with a long flank transfer to Leon Klassen and his touchdown. Blow, however, Klassen smeared.
But the fact is that Spartak was terribly lucky to go to rest with a minimal backlog. At the end of the first half, Krasnodar earned the right to a penalty kick. Eduard Spertsyan performed the standard chic, and the Spartak wall turned out to be flimsy. The ball went through it, but then, instead of flying into the corner, it hit the post. And that was not all, because the rebound went to another Krasnodar player – Juan Batshi. He adjusted to the ball and fired for sure. Here Spartak was already rescued by goalkeeper Alexander Selikhov, who, it is not clear how, lying on the lawn, managed to orient himself in the situation.
During the break, Guillermo Abascal, of course, continued to shaman with the squad. Immediately after him, Daniil Denisov and, most importantly, Quincy Promes appeared on the field. In those who are not indifferent to Spartak, most likely, hope flared up with a bright flame: well, they will add it now.
From the feeling that it was blazing in vain, for a quarter of an hour there was nowhere to go. Neither coaching appeals, nor the entry of famous football players to Spartak had any effect. The second Krasnodar goal could even be considered an ideal embodiment of his general condition, compressed into a few seconds. João Batshi took the ball in his own half and threw it past Alexis Duarte. Batshi rushed forward, and Duarte, at first running after him, suddenly took it and slowed down and then trotted on as if he was making a pleasant morning jog along the embankment: no need to strain, you can look around. And freed from harassment, Batshi moved to the center and slammed the ball into the net.
It seemed that this was already a sentence for Spartak for its inertia and indifference. And who would have thought that all the most interesting is yet to come.
The inaccuracy of Christian Ramirez helped the Spartacists wake up: he awkwardly swung his leg in the penalty area and touched Alexander Sobolev. Sobolev himself converted the penalty. And the owners who caught their luck moved, began to seethe and became like the Spartak that so admired everyone in the fall of 2022 – sharp, fresh.
He evened the score when another reservist with a name – Anton Zinkovsky, who was left to rescue a sinking club, famously fired from a distance into a corner. Goalkeeper Matvey Safonov got the ball, but Sobolev is a master of hunting for rebounds. And the game opened up – attack on attack, moment to moment.
The first to benefit from this unexpected openness, however, was not Spartak, who provoked it, but Krasnodar. He turned the unsightly Spartak removal into his own attack, which was completed by Spertsyan, who threw Selikhov.
Then it was the turn to use the freedom of Spartak. The throw from his half of the field did not look dangerous for Krasnodar. But everything for the hosts grew together after the discount and a new blow from Zinkovsky, which Safonov was not allowed to take again, inopportunely putting his foot in the direction of Ramirez.
And Spartak, having saddled, perhaps for the first time in six months, a wave of inspiration, did not want to be content with a titmouse in their hands. And his next “joker” – Shamar Nicholson – made his way into the penalty area, handing the ball to Quincy Promes. And Promes showed stubbornness, not wanting to put up with the fact that there was a whole fence of rivals around him. And he won by sending the ball into the corner and forcing the entire bench, led by Abascal, to go crazy.
This magical victory allowed Spartak to gain a foothold in the top three. Six rounds before the finish of the championship, he closes it, but behind Rostov, who is second after Zenit, by only a point. And CSKA, which is fourth, is three points behind Spartak.
