Zakharova: Zelensky's "peace formula" has nothing to do with the world

The “peace formula” proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has nothing to do with peace, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said. Her words are given on the website of the ministry.

“The so-called “peace formula” of Zelensky has nothing to do with the world. This is nothing more than a set of ultimatum demands on our country that are divorced from reality. Among them, the withdrawal of troops from the Russian regions – the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson region and even the Crimea, the payment of reparations and the surrender to international tribunals. The goal of the Ukrainian “formula” is to achieve the capitulation of Russia with the help of the West,” Zakharova stressed.

This is how the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on the tweet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba following the results of negotiations with his Chinese counterpart Qin Gang. Kuleba wrote that in the conversation, he “emphasized the importance of Zelensky’s ‘peace formula’ for stopping aggression and restoring a just peace in Ukraine.”

Zakharova noted that in this way the Ukrainian side is once again attempting to misinform the international community and its own citizens, since Kuleba does not propose negotiations in this tweet or anywhere else. At the same time, Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, noted earlier that the number of people who are in favor of peace talks is growing, and called it a “dangerous trend.”

“On the whole, the opinion of the “independent” authorities on any international topic would have at least some significance only if Ukraine retained sovereignty and independence from Washington. However, it is not. The Kiev regime has long been a tool of the US and other NATO countries in the fight against Russia. And they are not at all interested in a peaceful settlement in Ukraine,” Zakharova said.

The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman stressed that White House spokesman John Kirby criticized China’s proposal for a peace settlement, and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the American side would continue to supply weapons and equipment to Ukraine.

“For our part, we have repeatedly stated that we are open to really serious proposals from the West and Ukraine for a political and diplomatic solution to the crisis, but the language of ultimatums is unacceptable for us,” Zakharova stressed.

According to her, for a sustainable peace, it is necessary to stop Western arms supplies to Ukraine, cease hostilities, neutral non-bloc and non-nuclear status of the country and the recognition of “new territorial realities”, the lifting of all sanctions against Russia, etc.

In early November 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at the G20 summit, listed 10 conditions for the “Ukrainian peace formula”, among which are the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the withdrawal of Russian troops from its territory, fixing the end of the conflict, as well as ensuring food and energy and nuclear safety. At the end of December 2022, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov named The “peace formula” proposed by Zelensky is illusory. Based on it, Russia will not negotiate with anyone, he noted.
