The Rostec State Corporation denied the statement of the former Vice President of Russia Alexander Rutskoy and reported that the former Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov did not leave Russia, RBC reports.
“Serdyukov at work is absolutely certain,” Rostec told the agency. The former head of the Ministry of Defense holds the position of industrial director of the aviation complex in the corporation.
Rutskoi earlier in an interview with the Kovalev Principle YouTube channel stated that Serdyukov had left Russia. He noted that this is unconfirmed data, however, according to him, Serdyukov “disappeared somewhere” and “there is information that he has now settled in the United Arab Emirates.”
Anatoly Serdyukov served as head of the Ministry of Defense from 2007 to 2012 and was dismissed in connection with the investigation of a criminal case of fraud at Oboronservis. In 2013, the Investigative Committee opened a negligence case against Serdyukov himself, the official denied the charges.
He was granted amnesty in 2014 and has since held various positions in the aviation industry.
