The Russian Foreign Ministry called the shelling of a hospital in Novoaidar a crime of the Kyiv regime

The targeted shelling of civilian medical facilities is a grave war crime of the Ukrainian authorities, the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the attack on the district hospital in Novoaydar of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) on January 28. Statement published in the Telegram channel of the Foreign Ministry.

“The deliberate shelling of existing civilian medical facilities and the targeted killing of civilians are grave war crimes of the Kyiv regime and its Western masters. The lack of reaction from the United States and other NATO countries to this yet another monstrous trampling of international humanitarian law by Kyiv once again confirms their direct involvement in the conflict and involvement in the crimes being committed, ”the statement says.

The ministry emphasized that double standards are traced in the actions of Western countries, since they “do not notice” these crimes, raise the topic of a tribunal against Russia, but do not talk about the trial of the Ukrainian leadership “for their everyday crimes that are obvious in fact.” All facts are “carefully recorded” and they will not go unpunished, the Foreign Ministry added.

January 28 Russian Ministry of Defense reportedthat the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) in the morning of the same day attacked the building of the district hospital in Novoaydar with HIMARS multiple rocket launchers. As a result of shells hitting the building, 14 people were killed, 24 people – patients and hospital staff – were injured of varying severity.

“Intentional missile attack on a known active civilian medical facility is an unconditional grave war crime of the Kyiv regime,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The department added that for “many months” in the district hospital, civilian and military doctors provided medical assistance to the local population and military personnel.
