In flooded Orsk, eight residents were hospitalized with norovirus after drinking tap water, the Ministry of Health of the Orenburg Region reported.

On April 4-5, an incidence of acute intestinal infections was registered in the area of ​​three city streets. Among the sick there are both adults and children. 18 people sought medical help, of which, as specified, eight were hospitalized. The rest receive outpatient treatment. The patients’ condition is assessed by doctors as satisfactory.

All patients had a history, as indicated in the report, of drinking tap water.

The population of the region was asked to use only bottled or boiled water for drinking and cooking.
