70 monumental residential buildings will be overhauled in Moscow

In 2023, Moscow plans to overhaul 70 residential buildings that are objects of cultural heritage. According to the press service of the Capital Repair Fund of the city of Moscow, specialists have begun to develop projects, preparatory and research activities.
“In 2023, the plans of the FCR of Moscow to renovate 70 cultural heritage sites, 19 of which have complex architectural elements, and it is planned to carry out a major overhaul with restoration,” the message says.
Recall that more than 90 cultural heritage sites have already been restored in Moscow. Among them are such masterpieces of architecture as Korovin’s Profitable House on Chaplygin Street and an old mansion on Volkhonka.
“Some of the residential buildings, which are objects of cultural heritage and have a particularly complex architectural decor in need of restoration, are being put in order as part of the city’s co-financing program for restoration work. This program started in 2020,” the FCR explained.
In total, 365 cultural heritage sites were included in the program of the Capital Repair Fund for Moscow apartment buildings. These works require an individual approach. Specialists will have to restore the historical portrait and all the architectural features of such buildings. All organizations involved in such types of work have received a license from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, which guarantees the involvement of only certified specialists.

The program includes more than 28,500 houses with a total area of more than 275 million square meters. m, in which it is planned to repair more than 355 thousand engineering systems and structural elements of buildings and replace more than 112 thousand elevators.
To clarify the timing and types of work under the overhaul program, so-called short-term implementation plans are drawn up. Planned for 2021-2023 included 4437 houses of the capital with a total area of 34.2 million square meters. In 2022, repairs are taking place in 1.7 thousand houses.
