Gladkov: 690 Belgorod children will be taken to Samara and Astrakhan regions
Today, 690 children will be taken out of the Belgorod region, 150 of them to the Astrakhan region, another 540 to the Samara region, said the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov.
Earlier, he also announced the decision to send about 9 thousand children on vacation to other regions of Russia, this is due to the ongoing shelling of the region by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The expected period of placement of children in other regions is three weeks, but if necessary, this period can be extended until the summer.
Gladkov noted that children from the Belgorod region will go to the Samara and Astrakhan regions at the invitation of the governors of these regions.
“I am very grateful to everyone who responded to our problem, to our misfortune, and is helping our children now temporarily find a safe place,” Gladkov said. The head of the region also said that if the difficult situation continues, the regional administration will offer parents and ask the heads of the regions receiving children to leave them until the end of the school year. According to him, a preliminary agreement on this issue has already been reached.
He also said that governors of other regions of Russia, for example, the Vologda region, are already approaching him with similar proposals.
“Of course, we accept all help and will try to form trains and send our children as quickly as possible,” he said.
