65 ski competitions are planned in Kazan before the end of the winter season. They will be held weekly on weekends, Chairman of the Committee on Physical Education and Sports Linar Garipov said at a staff meeting in the City Executive Committee.
The next start is expected on February 17. The Mirny ski and biathlon complex will host the Kazan cross-country skiing championship dedicated to the memory of the hero of Russia Sergei Ashikhmin.
And on February 7, the opening gala match of the city stage of the Golden Puck competition will be held on the ice rink near the Ak Bars Arena stadium, in which famous hockey players and young athletes will take part.
On February 23 and 24, a hockey championship among residential complexes will be organized at the courtyard hockey rinks. Detailed information is available on the pages of the “Sports at Home” project on social networks.
On March 9, citizens are expected to attend the 57th Kazan Ski Marathon at the Lokomotiv stadium. The season will end with the Kazan Youth Ski Marathon.
Participants of the competition “Lover of Life. Longevity Games” will also be able to take part in competitions in city districts, Garipov noted.
