Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that according to tentative data, about 6 million employed people do not receive the minimum wage, and another 12 million do not have employment contracts.
“Today, according to such indicative data, the administrative data of the tax service, about 6 million people employed in our country do not receive the minimum wage, this does not mean that they are not employed somewhere else, but according to the tax service, there are about 6 million such employed people,” said Tatyana Golikova at SPIEF.
In addition, according to Ms. Golikova, another 12 million people do not have employment contracts at all. According to her, this creates a “huge body of problems” in the labor market.
From 2018, the minimum wage must be higher than the subsistence level. The highest level of the minimum wage in the capital is 24,801 rubles. From June 2022, the minimum wage was increased to 15,279 rubles, from January 2023 – to 16,242 rubles.
