The draft budget of the Murmansk region for 2023 provides for funds for three branches of sports. The region plans to modernize the sports infrastructure and continue the implementation of some old projects.

52 million rubles will be allocated for payments to athletes and coaches. Monetary rewards will be provided for special achievements and successes in the specified field of activity.

Another 14 million subsidies will be directed to the development of student sports clubs in colleges and universities. In 2023, new pilot projects will open here, among which there will be a biathlon development program in Murmansk and Severomorsk.

“And of course, the implementation of the Sopki sport project will continue. 35 million rubles are planned for 2023 to create new youth sports spaces in 7 municipalities of the Murmansk region,” reported in the regional ministry of sports.
