5 terrorism suspects arrested in France

France’s National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office said five suspects were arrested in the country on December 22 as part of an investigation into a criminal terrorist plot, AFP reported.
The detainees, according to preliminary data, belong to the Islamist movement. They were arrested in Nancy and two other cities in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in northern France and then taken into custody.
An elevated terrorist threat level was declared in France following the escalation of the Middle East conflict.
