4 million voters from 28 regions of Russia submitted applications to participate in online voting, said the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Ella Pamfilova. Of these, 2.75 million applications were sent to participate in remote electronic voting (DEG) and 1.25 million were sent to use the “Mobile Voter” to vote at their place of residence.
“Voters in our 28 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, where remote electronic voting will be used on the federal platform, have already submitted 2 million 750 thousand applications. Let me emphasize once again that the 29th region where we will have remote electronic voting is Moscow, there is no need to submit preliminary applications there,” the head of the Central Election Commission said during a meeting on Wednesday (broadcast on website Central Election Commission).
Acceptance of applications for participation in online voting began on January 29. It will last until March 11.
The presidential elections in the Russian Federation will be held over three days – from March 15 to 17 of this year. The following party candidates are vying for the post of head of state: Leonid Slutsky from the LDPR, Nikolai Kharitonov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Vladislav Davankov from “New People”. Vladimir Putin will run in the elections as a self-nominated candidate.
Why candidates are being asked to actively appoint their representatives to monitor online voting – in the material “Electronics lacks observers”.
