35,000 people left without electricity in Rostov region due to snowfall

Due to strong winds and sleet in the Rostov region, 35,000 people living in eight districts and three cities were left without electricity. This was announced by the Governor of the region Vasily Golubev in his Telegram channel.
As it was said in the message, power engineers were transferred to the high alert mode. More than 1.2 thousand specialists and 640 units of equipment were involved in the restoration work. “Emergency recovery work will be carried out around the clock. I receive a report on the elimination of accidents every hour,” the head of the region noted.
Due to the worsening weather, the situation on the M-4 Don highway also became more complicated. There were several accidents on the highway and many kilometers of traffic jams formed. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working at the scene of the incident, a decision was made to equip heating points for motorists and passengers.
