3,200 residents of the region participated in the race “Kursk character”

In the Kursk region on August 21 at 10 am, a simultaneous start was given to the race in 23 municipalities.
The event can indeed be called a mass event – 3,200 people aged 12 years and older took part in it at once. Among them, in addition to athletes, were joggers. “Kursk Character” was dedicated to the Day of the State Flag of the Russian Federation and the anniversary of the victory at the Fire Bulge.
According to the regional administration, residents of border settlements could join the action in more peaceful neighboring areas. So, in the Konyshevsky district, residents of Khomutovsky and Rylsky participated, in Lgovsky – Glushkovsky and Korenevsky, in Oboyansky – Sudzhansky and Belovsky districts.
The distances prepared by the organizers were 2 and 3, as well as 6 km for adults.
In Kursk, the race started on Red Square and passed through Gorky and Mirnaya streets, and the Boeva Dacha park. In the regional center, this route was run by 550 people, including Governor Roman Starovoit.
“I am glad to be with you again at the start of the Kursk Character track and field race. All those who went out today at a distance are great fellows. I wish everyone good health and all the best,” the head of the region greeted the participants of the event.
