23,000 people left without hot water in Vladivostok after boiling water spill

Today, June 7, at about 14:00 local time (7:00 Moscow time), an accident occurred at a section of the main heat supply network near Lugovoi Square in Vladivostok. As a result, a stream of hot rust-colored water flooded the square itself and the surrounding streets.
According to the prosecutor’s office of Primorye, due to subsidence of the soil, several cars were damaged. “Hot water supply of 146 apartment buildings, in which more than 23 thousand people live,”— states supervisory agency. The prosecutor’s office intends to assess “the fulfillment of the requirements of the law in the maintenance, operation and maintenance of networks.”
The mayor’s office of the capital of Primorye intends to provide assistance to JSC Far East Generating Company (DGC), on the networks of which there was a breakthrough. “The administration of Vladivostok will allocate equipment to help the DGK eliminate the consequences of the accident at Lugovaya. The first task is to remove the cars and deal with the elimination of the breakthrough. The damage must be compensated by the resource-supplying organization at the expense of insurance funds,”— reported city hall.
“There was damage to a section of the main thermal route in the Lugovaya area. Three work crews of the power plant and five units of equipment left for the site. Experts will promptly assess the damage, after which the power engineers will begin to eliminate it. The responsibility of the DGK for causing damage to third parties is insured,” the press service of the DGK said.
It should be noted that in March of this year a similar accident occurred in the same area of the city. Then, due to a break in the section of the heating main, about 30 thousand residents of Vladivostok were left without heating and hot water supply. According to local mass mediaLugovaya Square, adjacent to Ivanovskaya Street, was flooded boiling water.
