In her farewell post, the athlete spoke about her development. She said that she fell in love with gymnastics as soon as her parents brought her to the training room.
“There have been many victories along my way, but there have also been many defeats. In moments when it was very difficult, you rely only on yourself, take all your will into your fist and go to victory, because you have a dream and a goal,” wrote Liliya Akhaimova.
According to the athlete, over a 20-year career she has become convinced that the impossible is possible, and at the Olympic Games in Tokyo she managed to create history.
The gymnast thanked her coaches, parents, friends, and team.
Liliya Akhaimova was born on March 17, 1997 in Vladivostok. Olympic champion 2020 in the team, two-time silver medalist of the 2018 and 2019 World Championships in the team, European champion – 2018 in the team. In 2021, she was awarded the status of Honored Master of Sports.
