20,000 fighters of Wagner PMC were killed in the battles for Bakhmut – Kommersant

The head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that approximately 20,000 Wagner PMC fighters were killed in the battles for Artemovsk (Bakhmut). The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), according to Mr. Prigozhin, lost 50 thousand people killed and 50-70 thousand wounded.

“I had 35 thousand “on the front end”. During the operation, I chose 50 thousand prisoners, of whom about 20% died. They died exactly the same number as those who came to us under the contract (without zones, I mean). Approximately another 20% are the wounded and those who have injuries that make it impossible to perform combat missions for three months, ”said the head of the Wagner PMC in interview Konstantin Dolgov.

The high losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mr. Prigozhin pointed out, are due to the fact that the evacuation of Ukrainian soldiers from the battlefield was difficult, since the Wagner PMC was on the offensive all this time. “Three times less than I have killed, maybe even 3.2, and about half as many wounded,” said the businessman.
