Scotch whiskey, which was produced 200 years ago, was put up for auction by Whiskey Auctioneer in the UK. It is noted that 24 bottles were sold, each of which cost more than 12 thousand dollars. This is stated in a statement from the auctioneers.
The strength of the drink was 61.3%. It is clarified that alcohol was discovered at the end of last year in the amount of 40 pieces in the 750-year-old Blair Castle (Perth and Kinross County) by its trustee Bertie Troughton behind a secret door in a small basement.
The whiskey found was made in 1833 and bottled eight years later.
The authenticity of the alcoholic drink was confirmed by the Center for Environmental Research at the University of Scotland.
