20% of self-employed relocators returned to Russia – Kommersant

In 2022, from 400 to 600 thousand people left Russia, experts of the Konsol.Pro platform calculated. 20% of the self-employed returned to the country. Only 11% of respondents spent six months abroad.
Consol.Pro is a platform founded in 2021 for automating collaboration with freelancers. It is a participant of the Skolkovo project and an official partner of the Federal Tax Service.
From the study “Consoli.Pro” it follows that 65% of the self-employed moved to Georgia, Turkey and Armenia. Another 9.6% of the surveyed relocators went to Slovakia, and 9% went to Kazakhstan. Due to the growth of social tension and fear, 36% of the self-employed left Russia last year, 12% of those surveyed wanted to find work abroad.
During the year, 20% of relocators returned to Russia. After two months abroad, 37% of the self-employed returned to the country. For more than three months, 47% of those who returned lived abroad, and 11% of freelance performers lived for six months or more.
48.3% of relocators named family circumstances or health problems as the reason for returning to Russia. 20% of respondents were forced to return to the country after violating the rules of staying abroad. Among those who are still abroad, 35.9% are ready to return to Russia because of problems with their health or illness of loved ones, 8.1% – to resolve issues with documents.
