2.7 billion rubles will be spent on the platform for import substitution of foreign software

The authorities plan to spend 2.67 billion rubles. until 2024 for the development by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the “Modular Multiservice Industrial Platform” (MMPP), which should become an ecosystem of Russian industrial software, reported “Kommersant” in the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
As a result of the sanctions, many foreign software vendors (Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, etc.) stopped selling licenses in Russia. Domestic developers proposed to prepare their own strategy for Russian computer-aided design systems for electronics worth 20-30 billion rubles.
The platform should help Russian entrepreneurs replace foreign developers who left the market due to sanctions. At the same time, enterprises and developers are not sure about the feasibility of the project, since large Russian vendors already work directly with suppliers, and there are industrial centers to help with import substitution.
The curator of the project is Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Vasily Shpak. The release of the project is scheduled for September. The names of software developers are already known: Top Systems, 1C, Ascon, Nanosoft, Tesis, group T1 and others. MMPP is conceived by the ministry as a marketplace for Russian industrial software, where Russian companies can get software by paying for it by subscription.
