14 teams will compete for the title of Krasnodar Winter Football Champion

On December 3, the 60th Krasnodar Winter Football Championship kicks off. The traditional annual tournament is one of the most prestigious regional competitions among amateurs.

The start of the winter season for MK in Kuban was commented by the chairman of the Krasnodar City Football Federation Yuri Kunitsa.

– We have 14 teams in the Major League, 24 in the United League. There are both old-timers and new teams. In the major league there are 9 participants from Krasnodar, 5 more from the regional villages. The United League also has several out-of-town teams.

In the “tower” we have a fairly solid composition of participants. As for the favorites, there are experienced teams, for example, Bakra and Pioneer from Leningradskaya – owner Cup and Super Cup championship of the Krasnodar Territory last season. It was “Pioneer” who won the last draw of our “winter road”, then the Kuban State University became the second, the third place was taken by “Rus” from the Timashevsk region. Many young teams also participate, including those from universities. In general, student football is developed at a high level in the city, our universities successfully perform at the level of Russia. By the way, the first game at KubSU has been postponed, as they play the final tournament of the National Student Football League on December 6-8 in Krasnodar, where they will fight for the first place. KSUFKST and KubSAU successfully completed the season, taking first and third place in group “B” NSFL. And they will also play in the strongest league next year. All these university teams will compete in our competitions.

Yuriy Kunitsa spoke about the rules of the winter tournament.

– In the “tower”, the participants will play in one round, it turns out 13 rounds. We start on December 3rd and end on February 26th. The United League is divided into 4 groups of 6 teams. At the first stage, they will play in one round. At the second stage, 1-2 places form the first league of 8 teams, 3-4th – the second league, 5-6th – the third league. The match between teams from the same group in the first stage will count. In total, 11 rounds will be played here, and the competition will also end on February 26. Games of both leagues will be held at the stadiums of KubGU, KSUFKST and KubGAU, the reserve field of the Kuban stadium and at the Football Academy of the Krasnodar Territory.
