Mikhail Surinov from Vologda won the regional championship in classical chess. Competitions were held from March 29 to April 2 in the regional capital.
Thanks to this success, the 12-year-old boy became the youngest regional champion in this sport among men. Prior to this, the records belonged to two Cherepovets who won at the age of 15.
It is worth noting that Mikhail Surinov is training at the Vityaz school. In the competition, he scored 9 out of 10 points, ahead of three international masters and one grandmaster.
