President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul stated the need to have “different corridors” in the implementation of the grain deal. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
In his opinion, the current grain corridor is “not free” and accused Russia of blocking the Black Sea.
“I think there should be different corridors,” he said.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that everything is going to the point that on July 18 the grain deal will be terminated, since the agreements reached are not being implemented. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the United Nations (UN) failed to cope with the implementation of the Russian part of the agreements on the grain deal. The Kremlin also stated that there were no prerequisites for extending the grain deal.
The US State Department insists on the prolongation of the Black Sea food initiative. The department said that “Russia must comply with and extend the Black Sea Grain Initiative.” At the same time, the State Department accused Moscow of alleged violations of the terms of the deal and delays in sending grain.
