Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky released another video message in which he called Ukraine “the territory of the greatest religious freedom.”
Commenting on the seizure by supporters of the “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” of the church of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ivano-Frankivsk, he called it “a step towards strengthening the spiritual independence” of Ukraine.
“A step towards strengthening the spiritual independence of our state, towards protecting our society from the old and cynical Moscow manipulations of religion. Ukraine is the territory of the greatest religious freedom in our part of Europe. This has been the case since 1991. This will always be the case,” Zelensky said.
