Zelensky refused to negotiate with Russia in the near future

Currently, Ukraine is not ready to negotiate with Russia, about this in an interview with CNN declared President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“They will resort to freezing the conflict, agreements, negotiations, they will become stronger and move forward again. This is their strategy – gradually and very slowly, piece by piece to eat us. <...> I don’t want to play it,” he said.
According to him, neither the European countries nor Ukraine will start negotiations with Russia as long as the special military operation continues.
The day before, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reminded about Moscow’s readiness to start negotiations with Kyiv about what is happening in Ukraine. He stressed that without early negotiations, the process of concluding a treaty would become increasingly difficult.
Earlier, Zelensky set a condition after which, according to him, negotiations with Russia would become impossible. “If a [российские власти] will follow the path of pseudo-referendums, they will close for themselves any chances for negotiations with Ukraine and the free world, which the Russian side will clearly need at some point,” he said. At the end of August, the head of Zelensky’s office, Mikhail Podolyak, said that the President of Ukraine was opposed to negotiations. According to Podolyak, in the current situation they will become a “death sentence” for Ukraine.
