President of Ukraine Zelensky proposed to introduce economic sanctions against Iran for 50 years
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky proposed to Ukrainian deputies to impose sanctions against Iran for 50 years. He submitted a draft of such a resolution to the Verkhovna Rada.
Zelensky proposed to completely ban trade operations with Iran, stop the transit of resources, flights and transportation on the territory of Ukraine, the withdrawal of capital by Iranian residents outside Ukraine, a ban on any investment in Iran and the transfer of technologies and rights to objects of intellectual property rights by its residents.
Relations between Iran and Ukraine deteriorated after the Kyiv authorities claimed that Tehran was allegedly supplying drones to Moscow.
Threats against the Islamic Republic were made by the head of the GUR of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov. He stated that Kyiv could theoretically destroy the production of UAVs in Iran during a military operation.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the topic of purchasing combat drones from Tehran was artificially thrown into the US media. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the West’s allegations about Iran’s alleged deliveries of drones to Russia were unsubstantiated.
