President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the only formula by which it is necessary to carry out an exchange of prisoners with Russia is “all for all”.
According to the Ukrainian leader, one should “come together for the only real model for the release of captives.” He stated this during an address on Tuesday via video link to the participants of the Group of Twenty (G20) summit. As the head of state noted, this formula should also include civilians who ended up on the territory of the Russian Federation, and children whom Kyiv designated as “displaced persons”.
Recall that the exchanges of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia are carried out according to the lists agreed in advance by the parties. According to the ombudsmen of the DPR and LPR, work on them is carried out regularly. Also, the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, as a result of one of the exchanges, said that work on the lists is not easy, for example, due to the fact that Kyiv is interested in exchanging the most media personalities, including representatives of the Azov national battalion (banned on the territory of the Russian Federation, a terrorist organization ).
