Zelensky imposed sanctions on Russian athletes for 50 years

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the introduction of personal sanctions against 87 Russian and Belarusian citizens, including sports figures. Document published on the website of the office of the Ukrainian President.
Among the athletes who were subject to restrictions are football players Igor Akinfeev, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Yuri Gazinsky, figure skaters Ilya Averbukh, Ivan Bukin, Alexandra Boikova, Nikita Katsalapov, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva and Alexander Gallyamov, gymnast Svetlana Khorkina and others. Also under Ukrainian sanctions hit Ksenia Shoigu, Minister of Sports and Tourism of Belarus Sergei Kovalchuk and Belarusian high jumper Maxim Nedosekov. Restrictions were imposed on them for a period of 50 years.
By the second order, Zelensky imposed sanctions against 351 individuals and 254 legal entities. For individuals, the restrictions were introduced for a period of five years, for legal entities – for 10 years. Among the companies that fell under the sanctions are subsidiaries of Gazprom,Yandex”, VK and Rambler. The order says that access to the resources of companies will be limited in Ukraine.
On April 1, Zelensky imposed sanctions on 33 individuals out of 225 legal entities from Russia. The list also includes several citizens of Ukraine, including the former head of the Motor Sich enterprise Vyacheslav Boguslaev.
In March, Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions on Russian legal entities and individuals, as well as on Iranian companies and citizens of Syria, among them President Bashar al-Assad. In addition to Assad, the Syrian Prime Minister Hussein Arnus and Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad were also included in the sanctions list of Ukraine. It also included one citizen of Iran and 196 citizens of Russia, including heads of regional enterprises.
Restrictions were imposed on 137 Russian enterprises for a period of 30 years. The sanctions list includes four airlines from Iran – cargo Fars Air Qeshm and Pouya Air, Mahan Airlines and Saha Airlines. Sanctions against Iranian companies will be in effect for five years.
