Zelensky hinted at Ukraine’s accession to the EU by 2030

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kyiv’s bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup is symbolic, as three EU countries – Spain, Portugal and Ukraine – will host the World Cup together.
In his statement, he hinted that the country could become a full member of the European Union in the next decade.
“The point is not only that all three countries meet the criteria necessary to be eligible to host the world championship. The point is also that it will be very symbolic when the three EU countries hold this international tournament together,” Zelensky said.
According to Zelensky, the chance of approval of the application is quite high.
