Zelensky fired the head of the department for the protection of national statehood of the SBU Semenchenko

Roman Semenchenko, head of the national security department of the SBU, was dismissed from his post by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. The corresponding decree was published on the official website of the president on Wednesday. The reasons for the dismissal are not reported, however, according to the Strana publication, the department headed by Semenchenko dealt with issues of protecting the information space, and the dismissal could be related to surveillance of employees of the Bihus.info project.

Previously, the SBU opened a criminal case after allegations of illegal wiretapping and video recording of the publication’s employees.

A video published on the Internet allegedly shows the publication’s employees using drugs at a New Year’s corporate party. Bihus.info states that the publication’s team was followed for about a year and that the video was published to discredit the editors.
