Zelensky dismissed the heads of special services in three regions of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree dismissing the head of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Kyiv and the Kyiv region Serhiy Zaits, as well as the heads of the SBU departments in the Lviv and Ternopil regions Yuriy Boreychuk and Artem Bondarenko.
At the same time, Bondarenko was appointed to the post of head of the main department of the department by a separate decree.
At the end of May, Zelensky fired the head of the SBU department in the Kharkiv region, Roman Dudin, explaining that from the first days of hostilities, he did not work to protect the city, but thought only of himself personally. In addition to Dudin, Zelensky also changed heads of SBU departments in Dnepropetrovsk, Zakarpattia, Poltava and Sumy regions.
On July 17, Zelensky signed a decree on the removal of the head of the SBU, Ivan Bakanov, and the Prosecutor General, Irina Venediktova. The reason was the numerous facts of treason of employees of their departments, Bakanov was also charged with improper performance of official duties. On July 19, the Rada supported Zelensky’s resolutions on the dismissal of Bakanov and Venediktova.
