Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky criticized American congressmen because of their position on helping the Kyiv regime.

According to him, Kyiv has become “a hostage to the electoral process in the United States,” and called the approach of congressmen to the decision on the allocation of assistance “immature.”

“As for American assistance, it is critical. Unfortunately, we are hostages precisely because this is an electoral process, these are elections in the United States,” Zelensky said.

He also believes that the issue of supporting Ukraine has become a domestic political issue for the United States.

“It’s precisely this immature approach that I don’t understand,” Zelensky said.

He previously complained that Ukraine could soon run out of air defense missiles if the West does not step up supplies. He also said that the Ukrainian army cannot carry out counter-offensives due to the lack of sufficient ammunition, but there is ammunition for defense. “We don’t have any shells for counter-offensive actions. To protect our state, there is,” said the head of the Ukrainian state.

According to him, Kyiv has a number of initiatives that have begun to work, and Ukraine has begun to receive weapons from the West.

Zelensky also added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are now trying to fill the ammunition shortage with the help of drones. He stressed that this solution helps, “but cannot be an alternative.”
