President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said during a televised broadcast that holding elections during martial law is prohibited, but if the Verkhovna Rada quickly passes changes to the legislation, then this can be done.
Zelensky called financial support for the elections from the United States and Europe as another condition, since he refuses to take a loan for this, and also does not want to take money from military needs.
Zelensky also named the third condition. According to him, international observers will have to go into the trenches to confirm the legitimacy of the vote among the military.
The Ukrainian leader also stressed that he does not cling to power and would like to hold elections.
