Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with Der Spiegel that against the backdrop of ongoing hostilities with Russia, relations between Berlin and Kyiv are developing “in waves”, they have “ups and downs”.
In particular, Zelensky noted that by nature he is a “quick politician”, but others may act more slowly, as various bureaucratic mechanisms can slow them down.
The President of Ukraine added that the situation at the front can change every second, so his country “does not have weeks and months” to wait.
Zelensky described Germany’s attitude to arms supplies to Kyiv at the initial stage of hostilities as “conservative”.
