Zelensky: Armed Forces of Ukraine are not going to defend Bakhmut at any cost, to the last soldier

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with Italian journalists, spoke about the possibility of maintaining control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over Artemivsk (Ukrainian name Bakhmut).
According to Zelensky, Bakhmut is not a large city, like many others in the Donbass (as of January 1, 2021, the population there was 72,310 people).
“It is important for us to defend Bakhmut, but not at any cost, so that everyone dies. We will fight as long as it is reasonable. The Russians later (in case of success in Bakhmut – ed.) will want further to Kramatorsk, Slavyansk … and to the Dnieper, if they can. We resist, … we are preparing the next counteroffensive,” Zelensky said.
