Director Chernichuk: Zaporizhia NPP electricity supply restored by the Ukrainian side
Director of Zaporozhye NPP Yuriy Chernichuk said that the external power supply to Zaporizhzhya NPP, which was interrupted this morning, has been restored. He also confirmed that the station is currently operating normally. Earlier, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi expressed concern about the incident with the disconnection of the power transmission line by the Ukrainian side that supplies energy to the station.
“At 14:20 Moscow time, the supply of electricity to the Zaporozhye NPP was restored. The station is operating normally. Diesel generators have been stopped and put on duty,” the ZNPP press service quotes Chernichuk’s statement.
Earlier, the IAEA Director General noted that today’s state of emergency, which is dangerous from the point of view of nuclear safety, is already the seventh in the past year and a half and expressed the opinion that it is unacceptable to allow the situation to continue developing in this direction.
