The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, threatened the British Ambassador with a summons to the Russian diplomatic service because of a post on social networks about the “illegality” of the Russian presidential elections in Crimea and in new regions.
Zakharova made this statement in connection with the publication of the British diplomatic mission on social networks, which states that “Russia allegedly has no legal grounds for holding elections in Crimea and new regions, since they all belong to Kyiv.”
The Russian diplomat noted in her telegram channel that a careful record of attempts to interfere in the presidential elections in the Russian Federation is being kept. “Hasn’t your ambassador been to Smolensk Square for a long time? – she turned to the British embassy. “We can call for prevention if this doesn’t stop.”
Issues of ownership of certain territories are decided, as the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized, by the residents of our country, and not by Great Britain. “And they have already made such a choice,” Zakharova pointed out.
