Kyiv plans to commit a terrorist attack at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. About it reported Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova on the air of Sputnik radio station.

And we have been talking about this for a long time – about the nuclear extremism of the Zelensky regime. The fact that he chose a cooler object for himself in order to hold almost the whole world hostage, ”she said.

Zakharova added that a possible provocation at the ZNPP could affect the entire planet. According to her, the US and British authorities do not see this as a danger. However, “there is no corner of the planet that this will not affect,” since a possible attack on the station will affect the atmosphere, the oceans and agricultural products, Zakharova explained.

The day before, July 4, Advisor to the General Director of Rosenergoatom Concern Renat Karchaa declaredthat Kyiv plans to strike at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant on the night of July 5. According to him, the Ukrainian side can drop ammunition filled with radioactive waste, which was removed from the South Ukrainian nuclear power plant on July 3.

Kyiv claims that Russia is allegedly preparing a provocation at the ZNPP. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov named accusations of the Ukrainian authorities are “pure lies”. According to him, IAEA experts and the agency’s director general Rafael Grossi “know very well who is shelling” the ZNPP. Also in the Kremlin called Kyiv’s claims are lies.

Zaporozhye NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. Since the end of February 2022, ZNPP has been under Russian control. The Russian side has repeatedly reported that the station and the city of Energodar, where it is located, are subjected to regular shelling by Ukraine.

In early September last year, an IAEA mission arrived at ZNPP. The organization called for an end to the attacks on the station and the establishment of a safe zone around it. On July 4, Grossi said the agency considers the situation at the ZNPP “extremely fragile and dangerous.” He stressed that IAEA representatives continue to stay at the station.
