The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on the air of the “Evening with Vladimir Solovyov” program, said that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s phrase “Leave me alone” at the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting was addressed to a photographer from the organization.
Let us recall that Lavrov, during a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, which took place on November 30, interrupted his speech with the phrase “Could you leave me alone, please.” It is clarified that it was not clear to whom exactly the minister addressed his remark during the broadcast.
“It was a photographer from the organizers. Maybe he simply did not believe that the Russian minister was present at the meeting and decided to come so close that he could believe his own eyes,” Zakharova noted.
She clarified that after this, some Western countries tried to use this phrase as a kind of “meme,” thereby trying to show that Russia is supposedly isolated.
