The UN called on the parties to the conflict in Ukraine to avoid steps that would lead to an escalation of the situation. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that this call should be addressed to Western countries.
“We want all parties to avoid any action that would further escalate this conflict. And we urge them to ensure that this does not happen.” declared Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary General, commenting on the attack of Ukrainian drones on Moscow (quoted by RIA Novosti).
Zakharova noted that this is a call to those who supply weapons to Kyiv, including cluster munitions and shells with depleted uranium. “The UN Secretariat is embarrassed to name them, but we are not: the USA, Britain, France, Germany and all the NATO axis of evil,” – wrote Zakharov in his Telegram channel.
Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow on the morning of July 24. The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said that two non-residential buildings were damaged as a result of the fall of drones. The emergency services reported that the building at 17 Komsomolsky Prospekt was damaged, as well as the business center on Likhachev Prospekt, whose windows were broken on the last 17th and 18th floors. According to the Ministry of Defense, two UAVs were “suppressed and crashed.” The department said there were no casualties.
Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that the number of drone attacks on Russian regions has indeed increased in recent days. According to him, in this regard, hard work is carried out every day and security measures are taken. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Kyiv once again used terrorist methods to intimidate the civilian population, Moscow reserves the right to take retaliatory measures.
