Zakharova commented on the words of the French Foreign Minister about the support of Ukraine

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, assessed the statement of French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna. Earlier, the French minister, in an interview with radio station RFI, assured that support for Kyiv from Paris would continue and intensify.

According to report German Kiel Institute for the World Economy, from February 25 to May 31, the actual supply of heavy weapons from Western countries to Ukraine amounted to “slightly more than half of what was promised.” The report noted that the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom “rapidly increased their pledged [в феврале]but deliveries remain well below promises.” At the same time, Eastern European countries – the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Poland and Slovakia – delivered over 80% of their promised heavy weapons.
It was also noted that France has obligations for military supplies to Ukraine for only 450 million euros, Spain – for 330 million euros, Portugal – only for 80 million euros.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv. In particular, Zakharova repeatedly pointed out that pumping Ukraine with weapons brings NATO closer to the dangerous line of a direct military clash with Russia, and Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, said that arms supplies to Ukraine would not prevent Russia from achieving the goals of the special operation.
