Yavlinsky probably will not participate in the presidential elections – Kommersant

The founder of the Yabloko party, Grigory Yavlinsky, is unlikely to participate in the presidential elections in 2024, the party’s press service reported. They clarified that, according to various sources, the number of signatures for his candidacy reached 1 million 300 thousand.

The party added that the collection of signatures has not been stopped, since they come from citizens, and Yabloko is “not able” to stop the process. “Probably Grigory Alekseevich will not participate (in the presidential elections.— “Ъ”),” reported the Yabloko press service (quoted from RIA Novosti).

On December 10, Nikolai Rybakov was re-elected chairman of Yabloko reportedthat almost 1 million Russians voted for the nomination of Grigory Yavlinsky as a candidate in the 2024 presidential elections. Mr. Yavlinsky said that he would consider the possibility of nomination if at least 10 million signatures were collected by mid-December.

Presidential elections in Russia will be held on March 15–17, 2024. By data The Central Election Commission, today there are 29 applicants for nomination as candidates. In particular, the LDPR nominated the head of the party, Leonid Slutsky, as a candidate, and the plenum of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation supported the candidacy of deputy Nikolai Kharitonov.

December 20 Central Election Commission registered initiative group for the nomination of Vladimir Putin. He will participate as a self-nominated candidate.
