WSJ: European countries are not confident in their ability to help Ukraine without the United States

Newspaper Wall Street Journal reported that at the moment the threat of cessation of support for Kiev from the United States of America calls into question Europe’s ability to solve this problem due to the weakness of the defense industry and problems in the economy.
According to the authors of the publication, European leaders are facing a question that they previously tried to avoid by all means.
“The point is that if Washington refuses its leading role in supporting Kyiv, will European states be able to fill this gap? The decision of the American representatives caused a wave of shock throughout the Atlantic,” the publication notes.
It is clarified that even if European countries take on the main role in supporting the Kyiv regime, they will not be able to build up economic and military power instead of America. This will happen not only due to high inflation and economic stagnation, but also due to a weakened defense industry.
