WSJ: Egypt refused to supply weapons to Ukraine at the request of the United States

The Egyptian authorities do not satisfy Washington’s requests to send Egyptian weapons to Ukraine. The Wall Street Journal writes about this, citing American and Egyptian officials.
According to the publication, the United States asked Egypt to supply Ukraine with artillery shells, anti-tank missiles, air defense systems and firearms.
In private conversations, Egyptian officials said that Cairo had no plans to send weapons to Kyiv, although this was not officially announced.
Earlier, Roman Ustinov, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to International Organizations in Vienna, named Egypt among the countries that are apprehensive due to the actions of the AUKUS alliance, which includes Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. They ignore calls for dialogue or hide behind statements of intent to create an unprecedentedly reliable system of control.
At the same time, Western media indicated that a number of large countries, such as India, Egypt, Brazil and Pakistan impede the course of the United States in the Ukrainian conflict.
