What is homeopathy and why it doesn’t work
Homeopathy is based on the principle of treating like with like, which began to be used by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann at the end of the 18th century. To create homeopathic medicines, an active substance is used, which allegedly causes the same symptoms in healthy people that the patient experiences. In this case, the substance is repeatedly diluted until its practical disappearance. That is, these drugs do not have any effects on the human body, including side effects. Fearing that patients could only use these drugs in the treatment of HIV, tuberculosis, malaria and other serious diseases, the WHO spoke out against the use of homeopathy in 2009.
