White House: US priority is to prevent another world war

The priority for Washington in light of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is to prevent the outbreak of World War III, said John Kirby, spokesman for the US National Security Council. He noted that President Joe Biden has identified three main priorities over the past 15 months. The first of these is support for Ukraine, and the second is support for allies in NATO.
Kirby noted that the size of the US military presence on the European continent has been increased to 100,000 troops who are there to protect allies and ensure the fulfillment of obligations on NATO’s eastern flank.
The third priority is to prevent World War III. In this context, Kirby emphasized that the US and other NATO countries cannot directly intervene in the Ukrainian conflict, as this is not in the national security interests of either Washington or Kyiv.
