The White House has admitted that American troops may take part in the operation to free American hostages held in the Gaza Strip.
“I will not rule out any options when it comes to getting our fellow citizens out,” White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said on Fox News.
He noted that Washington is now actively trying to establish the location of Americans held hostage in Gaza and their exact number. According to Kirby, work on this is happening hourly and is a top priority for US President Joe Biden.
At the same time, Kirby stressed that the United States will not send troops to participate in the conflict itself between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement.
