The White House agrees with the proposals of members of the House of Representatives on the need to expand the audit of assistance to Ukraine, said John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council.
Earlier, the Republicans spoke about the need to audit aid to Ukraine. The Washington Post reported that Republicans are likely to vote in favor of an audit of military aid to Ukraine, a decision that has already been made within the party. A resolution demanding an audit was previously proposed by Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor-Green, who has already called for a halt to the funding of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the newspaper, the resolution could be approved as early as the beginning of the year, when the Republicans, who have received a majority in Congress, will be able to make decisions. If the resolution is adopted, then the US authorities will have to submit to Congress all documents related to assistance to Kyiv within two weeks.
At the same time, the publication writes that there is no talk of reducing funding in the draft document. It is noted that they mean $ 20 billion in military assistance, which the United States has already sent to Kyiv to confront Russia.
